SAN MATIAS
Founded in 1886, Casa Sanmatías is considered the fourth oldest distillery in Mexico. Made with agave from Los Altos, it is characterized by a sweet and soft flavor.
Aged for about three years in new French oak (limousin oak) casks and Kentucky-Tennessee whiskey used casks. It is manufactured without adding additives such as artificial sweeteners or synthetic fragrances.
On the palate, it has a smooth and creamy texture, with the sweetness of roasted agave, layers of maple, nuts, and barrel-derived spices, and a lingering finish reminiscent of white pepper and praline.
As tequila's popularity grew and more distilleries began accepting foreign capital, the company continues production rooted in the land while maintaining Mexican capital, celebrating its 140th anniversary.
