TOBA Lake in North Sumatra Province, Sumatra Island, Indonesia, is located almost directly on the equator, measuring 100 km north to south and 30 km east to west, making it the world's largest caldera lake. Although the lake elevation is 900 meters, a distinctive feature of Caldera Lake is that the surrounding area is a plateau with elevations ranging from 900 to 1,800 meters, making it truly an ideal place for coffee cultivation. Due to frequent fog from the lake and occasional rainfall even during the dry season, the annual rainfall is somewhat high at 2,500–3,000 mm, which may be a factor behind its unique flavor.
