■About blue-footed gannets
Green boobies live off the west coast of Central and South America, especially in the Galapagos Islands, where about half of the breeding pair live.
The blue-footed gannet, as its name suggests, has blue feet, and the male takes great pride in its magnificent feet. During the courtship ritual, the male bird alternately raises its proud legs high as it steps to show off to the other hen.
Blue-footed gannets usually hatch 1-3 chicks and feed them with two males and females to raise the chicks. The large webbing on their paws covers the child and helps to protect it from the cold.
