<What is George Steuart Tea>
George Steuart is the oldest tea maker in Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon), founded in 1835 by British captain James Steuart. Before the civil war, Sri Lanka was the name of the country "Ceylon". Even if you don't know what to do in Sri Lanka, you may have heard of "Ceylon Tea".
Even after independence from Britain, tea culture remained, and the nationalization of tea plantations was planned as a national policy, and the company was also deeply involved in this plan.
The soil, which was so beautiful and fertile that it was called the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean", was perfect for creating tea plantations. Even now, more than 180 years later, the company's tea is still made using the traditional hand-picked technique, but it has gradually developed new flavors to suit modern tastes. It is loved all over the world as an innovative long-established store.
In 2014, it was officially sold on the recommendation of the Sri Lankan ambassador to Japan at the time, and it is still a new brand in Japan.
