Squeeze essential oils that are effective in preventing hay fever from the branches and leaves of Todo pine, which is waste wood.
Todo pine is a coniferous tree distributed in Hokkaido, the South Kuril Islands and Sakhalin, and is suitable for the extraction of essential oils. In addition, its refreshing scent is full of Hokkaido-ness.
Our essential oil production begins with going to the mountains to collect leaves. We purchase the branches and leaves that have been discarded until now, which remain after the felling of the Japanese pines, from forestry companies or procure them from the forests we manage. After putting it through a crusher at home factory, it is extracted in a distillation machine for about two hours. In this way, only the part that was extracted at the beginning is used to make the product only extra-grade essential oils.
Before completing the product, we repeated prototyping using a distillation machine at home. After repeated trial and error in terms of temperature and distillation time, we brought the essential oil of Todo pine, which was finished in the ideal scent, to Kumamoto University and had the active ingredients analyzed. In this way, Hikobayu's Todomatsu essential oil was completed in 2018.
The following year, a leading researcher on Todomatsu published the results of a study showing that Todomatsu essential oil is effective in preventing hay fever, and the name and efficacy of Todomatsu essential oil spread throughout the country. It is said that pollen becomes 10,000 times more violent when it combines with harmful chemicals such as exhaust gas, but it has been revealed that the scent component of Todo pine acts on pollen and reduces the susceptibility of antigen-antibody reactions.
Partly because of this, we began to receive inquiries from all over the country. With the establishment of a new factory, we are now able to produce quantities that can be sold to the general public, and in addition to our original essential oils, we have also started to develop essential oil blends using genuine lavender and eucalyptus. Since Niseko has many tourists from overseas, we have finished it with an image blend that is easy for people outside Japan to pick up, such as "Powder Wave" and "Onsensepa".
