"I want people all over the world to wear clogs."
At the time of our founding in Showa 12, we were a company that made clog wood.
However, with the change of the times, the mainstream of footwear rapidly shifted from clogs to sandals, and our business changed from making clog wood to processing and manufacturing sandal tops and shoe soles.
Under such circumstances, Masashi Mizutori, the second president (current chairman) from around the first year of the Heisei era, returned to his roots and worked on the development of geta wood, which made use of the technology of making the soles of sandals and shoes so far.
"Conventional clogs have no left and right sides, the base is flat, and it takes time for the thong to get used to it."
"If you fit the left and right foot shapes like shoes, and wrap the thong around the instep, it should be gentle on the feet and comfortable to wear all day."
"Geta is a kimono that evolves in times of peace, and it is a beautiful culture that suits the climate of Japan."
"If you make clogs that go well with jeans, everyone will wear them again!"
At a time when geta were no longer looked at, Masashi Mizutori, who thought in this way, continued to develop it in a corner of the factory alone, and around Heisei 5, he gave birth to "Geta Monogatari" that fits comfortably on the soles of the feet.
Even now, after being replaced by the current president, Yukiko Mizutori, we continue to create products that are close to our customers' healthy lives and exciting lives under the theme of "living comfortably."
