Thinking about the importance of living at home where you can relax and relax every day, we manufacture and sell items for living that color your relaxing time.
We are particular about the characteristics and beauty of natural materials and the design that makes the most of them, and mainly produce lifestyle products such as hand-woven rugs, felt crafts, and blankets.
When I was looking for a production area with the desire to make rugs with good quality and design that suits life in Japan, I came across Nepal.
Raised in the harsh nature of the 4,500-metre highlands in the foothills of the Himalayas, sheep offer tough wool that is perfect for carpeting. Undyed Plus rugs are made from wool, and the entire process of collecting fibers, spinning, weaving, and finishing is done by hand.
By spinning and weaving by hand in this way, there is little damage to the yarn, and the rug is finished with a high elasticity that is resistant to friction.
By fusing our unique materials and weaving, we strive for a simple, timeless design.
The rug was designed by Katsuji Wakisaka, a former designer at Marimekko in Finland.
Also, when I was staying in Nepal, I came across felt crafts made locally.
Like rugs, wool is used, but I was attracted to felt not only because of its soft texture, but also because it can be richly expressed.
However, I felt that what they made was at a level that would be difficult to pass in the Japan market, so by controlling the color, design, and quality, we have produced felt products that can be sold in Japan.
And in 2021, we also started making blankets in Izumiotsu, Japan.
In recent years, cheap Chinese-made blankets have appeared, and production has plummeted. I asked them to make it because I wanted to preserve the technology of high-quality Japan blankets.
Using undyed, high-quality wool, skilled craftsmen take the time and effort to create a quality that meets the commitment of Japan, who place great importance on the material and texture.
