"I want to make use of Aomori's beech" Development of Bunaco technology
Just as there is one of the world's largest primeval beech forests and the Shirakami Mountains, a World Natural Heritage Site, Aomori Prefecture was rich in beech trees.
Beech contains a lot of water and is not suitable for use in woodwork and building materials, so it was once mainly used as firewood and charcoal, and was cut down in large quantities after the war as a "useless tree".
The beech manufacturing method, which was developed in 1956 with the aim of increasing the added value of beech, was an epoch-making technology that eliminated the disadvantages of the difficulty of processing beech and the large deviation of beech, and also reduced material loss compared to Rokuro sawing, which is made by cutting wood.
Currently, we are brushing up on our unique technology and promoting further upcycled manufacturing and effective use of wood resources.
