We want to spread "100% plant-based Japanese candles" to the world.
Founded in 2006, Chanois Co., Ltd. is a "regional culture dissemination trading company" involved in local news and manufacturing.
While operating the Fushimi Keizai Shimbun and Sumida Keizai Shimbun, which cover local news, we are involved in projects that disseminate the values (culture, traditions, things, and things) of various parts of Japan on a project-by-project basis based on the concepts of "Discover," "Reborn," and "Transmit."
Chanois's involvement with local manufacturing dates back to 2010, when he exported "CHEEZ CHEEZ," a domestically manufactured bag made from Kurashiki's distribution fabric.
In addition, since 2013, an affiliated company has been working as the secretariat of the "Kyoto Mukohi City Geki Spicy Shopping Street" with the aim of "making it a sacred place for spicy food," starting with the opening of the Geki Spicy Information Center and the creation of a map around the Geki Spicy Shopping Street. In 2016, we launched the Fushimi Keizai Shimbun and have played a role in the revitalization of southern Kyoto Prefecture, centered on Fushimi Ward, Kyoto City. Then, in 2020, when the coronavirus pandemic began, we launched a project with the "Ikeda Kasa Kobo" in Chikugo City, Fukuoka Prefecture, with the aim of revitalizing the production area of Kurume Kasa, and have deepened our relationship with the production area by manufacturing and selling indigo-dyed masks amid the shortage of masks.
Also in 2020, in an interview with the Fushimi Keizai Shimbun, Nakamura Candle President Koichi Tagawa said, "Japanese candles have different vendors from wicks to wax, and if the candle manufacturing value chain is disrupted, the entire industry will collapse. We want to preserve the tradition and culture of Japanese candle making by increasing the number of outlets," and we deeply sympathize with our commitment to 100% plant-based Japanese candles and our efforts to plant oak trees as raw materials, and we jointly launched "Kyo ROUSOKU+" to protect the tradition of Japanese candles and convey the splendor of Japanese candle culture to the world.
