TORU is made at Kalehanee, a family-owned business in the Bay of Islands on New Zealand's North Island. In order to produce the highest quality honey in a small facility on their farm, they work closely with individual beekeepers in the area to produce the highest quality honey in a small number of people.
Artisan honey is lovingly and carefully made, and because it is produced in small quantities, each batch has a subtle taste, color, and consistency. They are painstakingly hand-labeled and individually inspected for quality.
The TORU brand uses only single-source Manuka honey from the beautiful Northland region. This subtropical region is home to beautiful beaches, pristine virgin forests, and the world's largest kauri tree, Tane Mahuta, known as the god of forests.
This means that bees feed on Manuka nectar almost exclusively for a certain period of time, producing very pure and high-quality honey.
Manuka honey from Northland is truly special.
Its characteristic dark caramel color, rich aroma, and robust taste set it apart from Manuka honey from other regions.
That's why so many customers keep coming back for more.
We aim to source at least 98% of our honey from Northland hives.
Northland Manuka is the first New Zealand Manuka to bloom each year and benefits from a warm, mild semi-tropical climate.
The TORU series is currently available in New Zealand and Japan. Considering the consideration of the environment and the preservation of the quality of Manuka honey, we use stylish bottled bottles.
